REVEALED: Reason why Messi stopped Isco's move to Barcelona.

The reason why Lionel Messi stopped the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Isco during the last summer transfer market has been revealed.

Isco was impressive with Real Madrid last season helping the Los Blancos to the La Liga title and the Champions League which prompted the interest from their bitter rivals Barcelona and Manchester City for his signature.

Isco was signed from Malaga and he has spent the last four and half years at the Santiago Bernabeu and he has won 12 trophies within that time frame including the back to back Champions League.

Reports in Diario Gol says Iniesta revealed Messi was against the signing of the Malaga born midfielder because they had Xavi, and Cesc Fabregas in the midfield position and adding him to the ranks would make the competition for a starting role so hard in the midfield.

Messi is also concerned by off-field concerns that would prompt up if the Real Madrid man is signed as he has doubts over Isco’s character and could be unhealthy for the dressing room.

Isco made Real Madrid wait longer than necessary before he signed a new deal at the start of the season which raised the speculation that he might sign for Barcelona but it was Messi and top senior Barcelona players that prevented the deal from happening.
